Donald Milton’s musicianship is impeccable and essential, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg for this talented young choral conductor. He’s also an incredibly skilled pedagogue, able to not just zero in on important issues in tone and musicality, but also to address them in a memorable and engaging way that leaves everyone smiling. He’s so entertaining to watch and listen to that you don’t realize how much you’re learning! My choir improved noticeably after just an hour with Don, and we still use the lessons he taught us almost a year later…as we will for many years to come.
Don Milton is a musician’s delight in every way. He makes choral rehearsals fun, challenging, and educational. He does all this with big smiles, encouraging words, patience, and persistence. He does not settle for mediocre sound quality and production. He impresses with musical knowledge, directing excellence, and superior rapport with both choral members and audiences.
Don Milton cares about his singers and tries to include voice training in rehearsals so we can all learn and improve. He also has the wonderful ability to tell you you’re doing something wrong without making you feel bad about it – correction, not criticism.
